- First you will need to Register at the training site, by clicking the large, silver button above (register first, then log-in)
- Complete all 13 modules and the post-test after each module. There is no time limit for taking the course though you must spend at least 8 hours. When you submit the last answer to the post-test, a screen will display listing your course progress. The screen will show the modules that you have passed.
- At the top of the course progress screen, there will be a hyperlink that says "Waiver of Notification Form" in red. CLICK on that link, complete the form, and click on "Submit Waiver Notification" at the bottom of the page. This can all be done online.
- After you have completed the course and paid for your modules, you will be able to print your CME Certificate and the Buprenorphine Training Certicifate (or Certificate of Completion).
- It is very important that you CLICK on the "PRINT BUPRENORPHINE TRAINING CERTIFICATE." This is the certificate which CSAT requires to grant you a DEA-X number. Once this Training Certificate prints, it must be faxed to CSAT at (703) 528-2857. To confirm that the certificate was received, you can call (866) 287-2728.
- For your own records, you should then CLICK on the "Print CME Certificate". You can claim 9 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians after you complete the course. NOTE: This certificate should NOT be faxed. It will not qualify you for the DEA-X number.
- For questions on licensure, DEA-X number, registering to prescribe, etc., please call the SAMHSA Buprenorphine Information Center at (866) 287-2728 or email info@buprenorphine.samhsa.gov.
- For questions specifically about the online training email buptraining@aaap.org or call AAAP at (401) 524-3076.
