 What is the AAAP News?

The AAAP News is a publication distributed to members of the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. The newsletter is also distributed at various national conventions and to potential AAAP members. The AAAP News is published three times a year: Winter, Summer and Fall.

What are the benefits of placing an advertisement?

Placing an advertisement in the newsletter of AAAP targets your message to a specific group of readers who would be interested in responding. AAAP staff is available to personally assist you with advertising decisions. Classified ads range from ¼ to one full page in size. Color printing is available for additional costs.

Newsletter Specifications

The Newsletter includes such features as updates on research, current events which impact the addictions field and activities of the organization and its membership.

Issue Dates: Orders and ads must be received by writing or email 30 days before issue date.
  • Winter Issue: March 1
  • Summer Issue: July 1
  • Fall Issue: November 1

Rates (Black & White)

  • Full page:             $1000
  • ½ page horizontal: $550
  • ½ page vertical:     $550
  • ¼ page:                 $300
Color Rates
  • 4-color/Full Color: $650 + B/W rate
  • One Additional color: $250 per color + B/W rate
A production charge is added to regular rate for typesetting ads to fit display formats. Charges are $35 for 1/4 page, $55 for 1/2 page, and $85 for full page. Revisions to existing ad copy may incur a typesetting charge.

  • Full page: 7 ½ x 9 ½ inches
  • ½ page horizontal: 7 ½ x 4 ¾ inches
  • ½ page vertical: 3 ½ x 9 ½ inches
  • ¼ page: 3 ½ x 4 ¾ inches
Digital Ad Files
  • PDF or EPS format is preferred. Create a separate PDF for each page. Text ads may be submitted but will be charged a typesetting fee.
  • Black and white ads must be black only.
  • 4-color ads must be CMYK only.
  • All advertisments are subject to approval.
Closing Dates
Cancellations must be received in writing by at least 15 days before deadline. If, for any reason, an advertisement is cancelled after the space deadline or material is received after the material deadline, the publisher reserves the right to charge the advertiser for the insertion. In this case, a former ad will be repeated or substitute material requested. Statement of Guarantee: Uniform rates are guaranteed to all advertisers using same amount and kind of space: no exceptions to published rates.
